Hi all, good to be part of the community.

Last week the family and I went for a trip, about 150Kms down the coast. On the way home after around 120Kms, I came into a town in which a right hand turn is needed so I came to a full stop, and wham the car stalled. I restarted thought nothing of it, continued home unpacked and relaxed. Next day the car started as usual, but after warming up began to misfire, cough and splutter at idle . Under acceleration it runs as well as it ever has, its just idling thats the prob. The VL is one owner always serviced has done 205K and up to this point has been a dream. There is no manifold leak, split hose, or air duct problems. So I ask you gurus what is more likely: dud AAC, IAA, FICD, Air regulator or Air flow sensor? Or could it be more simple? any help is much appreciated.

hi how u goin, the first thing u should should do is make sure your throttle body and air bypass valve are clean, if not clean with carby/throttle body cleaner,a brush(toothbrush will do) and a rag to wipe out.if this doesnt make a difference check the crank angle sensor(located behind plate in distributor) is free from dust/dirt as it is an opticle sensor and signal is easily disturbed, give it a good blow out with an air blower also make sure the 360 slots in degree wheel are clear, other problems may be high resistance in secondary ignition system(sparkplug leads etc...) or a blockage of some sort in fuel system, goodluck
