I decided to start a new fast paced project called lone fidh. I'm starting woth the revell 71' Hemi Cuda. The main feature of this car will be the A pillar chop but the overall goal will to be to keep it clean and stream lined.

A pillar chops were popular in the early-mid 80's from what ive heard. This is gonna be a interesting project.
I'm waiting with baited (no pun intended) breath for some more progress.

Thanks everyone, Im attempting to give the car a more streamlined lean towards the front by only chopping the a pillars.I managed to get the gap filled with some styrene and the hood pins sanded off.

To use the wheels and tires I wanted it would require a larger wheel well. At first I wasn't quite sure on how to make them, then I found a solution when I went to take some tylonol. The bottle would be a perfect shape.

As a result of the larger wheel wells I had to remove the rear seats and I'm now working on patching it up.

another useful tub source i've heard about and used is the inside of paint can's caps.

The car is coming together nicely!!!

Finally got time to go back to modeling after moving and working on the new house. I sanded down most of the stuff than just sprayed on some primer to see how much work still needed to be done ond to my suprise its not that much. I hope to be putting on the color sometime this week.

Looks really good .The a pillar chop is sometimes known as the gentlemans chop.Don't know where that name came from though.I tried this on a plymouth superbird slot car I built once.Worked out quite well.

Correct me if i´m wrong, but doesn´t a `gentlemans chop`also include the cutting of the B-pillar? Just so it comes loose ( not removing material) and getting a better flow in the roofline?

Normally a wedge is taken out of the rear-most pillar so that the whole roof can angle forward. This way the roof and window line still follows the original proportions. The A-pillars are then cut and angled forward to reach the cowl. Cutting the roof in the middle makes it hard to line up the top of the window especially if it is curved.

I did a '71 duster with the same chop but I pie-cut the b-pillar and I didn't like the outcome. While it looked good from the side, the front looks strange because you can see more of the roof on top of the windshield.
