do octane boosters give more hp

Right now on my 92 accord the only mods I did was an AEM short ram intake, and a straight threw design performance racing muffler. I was wondering octane boosters like nitrous in a bottle or Lucas octane booster. Do those really work and with my mods would it affect anything like hp or mileage.

at the strip...maybe, a very very little bit...on the street, waste of money.

That’s funny cuz I kinda drive my car on the street like im on the strip lol. But will it affect the car in any way harmful?
Thanks

Harmful only to your pocket, I'd say.

product does nothing. if the octane booster says it will add 5-7 octane ratings more. it would be from 91 octane to 91.5-91.7 not 96-98 octane. its completly a waste of money especially on a car with so few mods.

First off the answer to your question is NO...not at the strip, not on the road, NO.

Secondly, as was said, those points that they advertise, aren't full octane points, read the small print..they are only fractions of points...so if you put in a bottle into a tank of 87 gas, it will raise it to 88.

Thirdly, use the octane that the manufacturer specifies in your manual. If it recommends 87, and you are filling it with 91 or 93, you are wasting your money, and may actually be bringing your performance down. Lower octane has a lower temp of ignition...higher octane is used to prevent pre-detenation on cars with higher compression ratios and/or forced induction...ie turbos, superchargers, nitrous...if you don't fit into one of these categories...then using higher octane is a waste...plus your ecu will realise and may alter your timing negatively...which means less power...so stick with what is recommended...an intake and a muffler change nothing. If your car uses 87, give it 87.

With a higer octane you can actually LOSE horsepower. If your motor doesn't ping, it's doing fine on what your using.
