I just bought a 1985 BMW 318i and I'm extremely excited about it. It's the perfect car for my daily commute and my budget. I was just wondering what the stats are on a car like this. It is the standard model without any significant add-ons (i.e. it's still 4 cyl., etc.). Anyway, what I really wanted to know was how fast it gets from 0-60 as well as what it's top speed is, more or less. Thanks for your time and enjoy your BMW!

The top speed will run out around 120 or 125, but it will take a pretty long strip of straight road to get there, as the engine lacks in torque. Also, the 0-60 isnt too impressive, probably about 9.5 or 10 seconds. The 1.8 liter only puts out about 115 hp, so its not the fastest car around.

New, it put out 101 horsepower. Now, somewhat less so don't even talk in public about the 0-60 time. None-the-less, at 3500RPM and 80MPH it feels like the car could drive non-stop across the country (along a level shore route!).
