I had the same thing happen to me, then I started to leak a little oil when I parked it. Later I found right by the oil filter you'll see a small round (can shape) piece with 2 wires sticking out. This is your oil press. sending unit. I replaced it for 80 bucks and the leak stoppped, and my gauge read right. Or your aren't aware that as you increase the RPM's that will increase your pressure. I don't know and certainly don't want to offend. Just two possible answers. Let me know. I am here to help my friend.

Can you give us more inforation when you post.
When does it go up and down? Does it do it at idle, when you are revving?

At idle it should read about 20 psi and while driving 30 psi and up . Thats on a warm engine.

This is normal, it will move with engine rpms seeing the pump is on the distributor and will increase and decrease with engine rpms and driving.
It never stays constant when revving or accelerating. If it did, then you would have a problem.
