Ok, I drive a 97 VR-4 and everytime i want to go from 2nd to 3rd gear when racing it feels like it dosent want to go into 3rd gear and it kind kicks back, and i have to kinda forced it in. Some people told me that my syncro is going out. Also i havent taken to the dealer for the Transfer case recall. So do u guys think is the transfer case, or is there something wrong with my whole transmission.
Also my clutch just went out and i havent got the new clutch yet, do u guys think it could be the clutch that dose that and when i put my new clutch in, would that fix the problem?
Please Help ASAP
Thank You

fix your clutch first and then go from there.
does it grind when going into to gears, or it just simply wont let you in? or what

It lets me go in but it feels like it dosent want to go and i have to kinda force it in. But it just mostly dose it when i am racing somebody and i am like 5500rpm or 6krpm and i am changin from 2nd to 3rd. It sometimes when drivin normanl it dose that do. Ohh and when the car is cold it feels like it dosent want to go to any gear. I dont know what the hell is up with that but when the car is warmer it works fine and i just done the 60k mile tune up and they changed my transmission oil.

when its cold its normal for it to not want to go into gears, the oil needs to warm up first

shifter bushing has probably gone bad, i believe you can buy a new one from the dsm community somewhere for 20 bucks

you can take it to a tranny shop; they could properly diagnose the problem. but before you jump to conclusions, check the shifter cables, but my money is on the master and/or slave cylinders. when i THOUGHT my clutch was going out, it was hard to shift into some gears, but i had to force it to get it to go in (like you described). turns out, it was the slave cylinder that had developed a leak. i replaced it, but also had a new clutch put in since it was 12 yrs old and hadn't been replaced in 65K miles.

slave cylinder is pretty cheap...around 50 bucks. check out www.thepartsbin.com for parts-->good prices and free shipping over $50 orders. i get most of my parts from there.
if you kept driving your car like it is now, by forcing it into gear, then you'll probably start grinding your gears (if you haven't done so a little already). continued use like this could really f*#k up your tranny. stop now! take it to a tranny shop.

G35Turbo, I'm having the EXACT same problem. I've seen others are too...maybe the cold weather? Anyway, PM me if/when you find out what's wrong so I know where I should look first.
