MAF sensor needs cleaning.
Remove it and spray throttle body cleaner through it on the sensor wires and dissolve the black gunk covering them.
Then reset your computer and start it up.

thanks blazerlt but i already c/o the maf but didnt reset the computer-i also see a problem with the voltage with everything running it hits about 11 or 12 the battery is new as of 12/01 so maybe a problem w/alt?

What is c/o the MAF mean?

Having your vehicle stall out and the voltage gauge reading low is a tell tale sign of a bad alternator.
Do this, buy a new alternator, install it and if the problem does not go away you can return it. Alternators are very easy to install in about 15 minutes.
I don't trust the alternator test at autozone seeing there has been many that have had it tested there only to find out that their alt is bad even though it tested ok.
It is that or the battery. Take a voltmeter out and test the battery with the engine off and the engine runnign and come back here and tell us the readings.

thanks LT for the info,i just bought the battery at the start of the week, but would the alt have anything to do with not being able to rev up past 2k?and also can anyone tellme how to clear out the computer on a 2001? i'm getting different answers on this problem

You never said it wouldn't rev past 2k. Hmmmm... this kind of information needs to be brought forth in the first place.
Before we move on tell me this, have you checked for anymore engine codes?

This might be a defective MAF sensor. That or a broken wire somewhere.
Check you coil out at night with it completely dark and look for blue spark arcing around the coil.

the maf sensor is fine, though i saw some arching around the body of the coil i replaced the coil but still have the same problem,i have only 1 code P0300 random misfire,i did notice the alt is extremly hot to touch and the volts read 11-12 with everything on,i still dont know how to clear the comp
BlazerLT

Clear the comp by removing the negative battery cable and removing the ECM fuse from the fuse panel fo 5 minutes or so.
Clears everything for me.
Trace all the wiring go to and from the alt.
I still think the alt is shot for sure and will fail when it is warm. Bench testing it will not show this because they never test it with the temperature it is subjected to in the engine compartment.

Does your exhaust sound rather growly and loud?
Do you smell sulfer?

any ideas as were to start? also should i consider c/o the cap and rotor? the car has only 48k
BlazerLT

Maybe check the cap and rotor for white corrosion.
Would be a good start. Also check your fuel pressure and see whether or not the fuel filter has ever been changed.

rotor and cap weren't good so i changed them out i cleared the comp the misfire codes are gonr but that dam p0102 code is back-maybe a bad maf-which i c/o maybe they gave me a bad maf?-i don't have a way to check the fuel pressure so it looks like this car is going to have to see the man!

Fuel pressure check will speak volumes.
Have you ever replaced the fuel filter?

yeah i changed that out only 11$ but what a pain to c/o i'm going to have it towed to a shop that deals in gm's car and trucks, though i did talk to a guy yesterday that said his 2001 went through 3-fuel pumps
BlazerLT
12-19-2004, 10:27 AM
Could be the pump or the fuel pressure regulator.
Lots of times the shops replace the pump when it is the regulator causing the problems.
Just keep it in mind.
