I just pulled the tranny from my cyclone and am getting ready to complete the swap and realized that I now have an extra tranny. I already have a dogbox so I wont be needing it. If interested in buying it from me post a reply and I will get back to you asap. tranny has only 35,000 miles on it.

are you sure the cyclone tranny is a direct swap for a 1g awd trans?

Why do you have a dog box? I would say thats a little over done and a waste of money!

the tranny is sold.. and I have a dogbox because I am upgrading the turbo, fuel system, intake, and exhaust again. I am installing a ported 7cm 20g, 1000cc injectors, venom fuel rail, venom intake, 70mm throttle body, custom hard uip, custom hard lower intercooler pipe, greddy front mount ic,hidden where the a/c used to be, walboro 340, and a galant VR4 transfer case. the car is in the shop right now. I just finnished doing the crank, ballance shaft removal, eagle rods, je pistons, clevite berrings, stage 2 head, 3 puck clutch, act 2900 pressure plate, je flywheel, and a .062 copper head gasket and ss orings. I am hoping to have her in and started fired up tomorrow, god willing. So thats why the dogbox, gotta make sure that the tranny can take the upgrades. unfortunatly I am still waiting to hear back from DSMLINK about my ecu. I think I am gonna have to try to tune her with the afc and hope shes okay for a while....

HA... There is no way you are going to be able to tune 1000cc injectors with an AFC! Those are just rediculous unless you can get DSMlink. Your car probably wont even run unless you are WOT!

Another thing I want to comment on is the JE pistons. I hope you researched them good before getting them! Almost any DSMer that I know stears away from them because they expand and shrink so much so you get blow by much easier. Or you sieze and crack your piston, or blow a rod out the side of the block from it.

And about the fuel rail... I personally think it was a waste of money, seeing the stock rail lasts well into the 9s! But its your money. Good luck, its a hell of a mods list.

IF je are that bad then what do you suggest. My local tuner shop only worked with hondas till now. I am there first DSM, and being in the sticks I guess I am lucky anyone knows anything about sport compacts. I am still at the point that I can change the pistons. I just dont want to get this far and watch another engine go up in smoke.

why do you need a 10 second setup for a 20g?

I'd suggest Wiseco or Ross pistons. I have had good experiances with Wiseco. Their pistons are great and I know a lot of people running them. If I were you I would steer clear of JE pistons for sure... Just my $.02.

And if you havent upgraded the fuel rail yet, leave it stock. IMO you will probably not have to worry about upgrading it yet for awhile, so put that money towards something better

Also same question as Joe... Why go with such a huge setup for a 20g?

I call bullshit...don't I always? ;)

Edit: This is mostly due to the 1000cc injectors, the bullshit manifold, and putting a dogbox in a car with a 4in drop...not because of the drop, mind you.

Yea I was thinking the same thing but I usually dont jump to conclusions too quick. Maybe he is telling the truth but yea all that and no DSMlink and 1000cc injectors threw me off! Got any pics of this stuff?
