97 camero v6

hi all.i am new to this forum and i need a little help.i have a 97 maro v6 with 5-speed. when i start the car i haft to turn the key to hear the fuel pump....then do it again ...to start the car so it would run! is there any one out there that can help me narrow this down to what i can do ,to just put the key in and start? and also i noticed that i have a switch under the dash (toggle) and have no idea what it is for,and can any one tell me about silencer products....thanks for all your help!

well, sounds like an aftermarket security device as far as the switch, i dont know of any factory switches down there. that could be causing problems.

but as far as your starting situation, i would say replace your fuel fitler. sounds like its just slowing the fuel from getting to the intake. probly just all gummed up.
