This problem may have been addressed previously, but I could not find it.
Here is my dilemma:
My car's interior blower started to blow through the defogger and floor vents while driving down the road. When I stopped the car and turned it off, the fans continued to blow. I have the climate control in my vehicle.
I spent yesterday trying to find a solution to the problem. I saw some references to a "Blower Control Module". I have tried to look this up and call some auto parts dealers to no avail. The only item they can refer to is a "blower relay". My mind tells me that these are not the same thing, but I need some confirmation. I also need to locate my Haynes or Chilton Manual to see if they reference it.
My worst fear is that this is a factory part that can only be purchased through a dealer. My current remedy for the situation is removing the 30A fuse from the firewall fuse box that controls the A/C. this stopped the blower.
If you can offer some advice, then I would greatly appreciate it.

It is a clear malfunction in the blower control module. I would also try to reset the car by disconnecting the battery for about 20 mins and then see what happens. let us know.

About the blower relay: The purpose of this relay is to detect:
1. an ignition on state and
2. the AC/Heater unit switch is on.
When both states are on, a MECHANICAL moving part within the relay connects the power circuit for the blower motor and is supposed to RETRACT when either state is off. You may have noticed "clicking" noises under the hood from time to time particularly running the AC. These are the relays.
Your problem can possibly be that the blower motor relay is sticking. It's only a $15 part available thru most parts stores. The relay is located on the upper engine firewall under a fiberglass rain shield, amoung three or four other relays.
Your year has two blower speed related relays:
a. Blower speed relay (for variable speeds). It has four wires - colors: brn, brn, brn and lt blu.
b. High Speed Relay (max speed). It has five wires - colors: org, red, blk, drk blu, and prp

Had it disconnected all night the night before, and it still did it.
Where is the Blower Control Module if the relay replacement doesn't work? How do I get one?
