interior switches?

I was just wondering if the headlight switch and interior light dimmer from newer 3rd gen will fit my 82 third gen.?In my 82 the headlight and dimmer switch are side by side and in the newer third gens they r above one another.Right now I have the black colored headlight and dimmer switch and I dont know if the grey ones from newer third gens will fit my 82.? My black ones work fine but the reason I want to install the grey ones (I picked up at pic apart) is because they will match my gray window switches.

Can some body please help because I dont want to take everything apart and find out they dont fit.

well, the connector may not be the same and the size of the hole they go in may be different...measure first. Assuming I understand your question right.

thats not original 82,because it does not have the 2 lines running parralel and horizontal along the front of the dash.

On topic:the connectors are different.

Nightrider,was you seriously trying to tell me what parts i have on my car? All three other people who have owned my car since it was new are like family to me.It was first owned by a woman(family),who got it as a graduation gift.Then she sold it to her brother(family),after she wrecked it.He then gave it to his other brother,cause he owed him some money(also family)I bought it from him for 400 dollars,wich was what his brother owed him....and my dash is the original dash,cause im the only person to ever do anything to this car.It spent most of its life in storage not being driven.All work to this car has been done by people i know,as its never left the family.sorry to get off topic,but dood,the dash is the only original part this car has....

its been painted,but just the parts around my gauge cluster...

Wuts up brotha man,(Hotrod)You have gave me some great advice and info and I am not trying to disrespect u in any way.Just that when I bought my 82 my dash had the lines in front of it.I have also seen sites where they say the original dash in a 82 had the lines in front of it.However I removed that dash that came with my ride because it had bad sun damage but I replaced it with a mint one I got for 12$ at pic a part off a 92 firebird.By the way,the one I got at pic a part had no lines in front,its rounded.I dont know if Im wrong and your right but that is what I have seen.

are you talking about the dash pad?if your talkin about the dash pad,mine is spankin new.I was more talkin about the entire,complete dash,all the plastic,the gauges,the pocket..Oh and no offence taken.

oh.....ok.I was also wondering the history of ure hood.Well since u have a trans am I thought those came with the ppower bulge air intake hood .

My hood is from a 1983 trans am with a 305 in it.I assume it was original.I payed 30 bucks for it,and the only damage it has is a little paint damage cause it had one of those tacky bras on it.I dont think ive taken a picture of it with the new hood on it,most of my pics are of the old misfit hood.
