Jaw DROPPED!

Ok today i was coming home from school and I was just cruising and one of my friends in a trans am(V6) and I start to pull away from him at about 100 and at 110 on my right side...well could be just front in general but i had this LOUD ANUS TAP/ TICK so i slowed down and once I did it went away at 90 mph.. WTF i was so scared I was like WTF is that and was saying "I wont do it again baby please dont be hurt that was a mena man It wont happen again baby i promise... I hope it is somethign dragging be cause it was so damn loud and im freaked out...
Thanks for your help before you actually help me...oh yeah the thing under i think that might be dragging is that plastic covering...can you buy brand new ones? mines kinda falling apart piece by piece... hope that is it

and you're gonna have to describe this tap/tick more.. was it a fast tick? slow tick? low pitched? high pitched?

sounds like a loose plastic under body trays to me. all it takes is 2 loose clips and at high speeds like around 100mph it will flap against the metal so hard it will drive you nuts. but general driving you will not hear it. if your engine is really f*ed up that bad to make noises like that, then it should make that noise all the time when its under a big load. the engine doesn't know what speed the car is going. its only knows how much load is put on it.

tracking down noises is about the worst automotive chore, we don't even bother doing that kinda shit at our shop anymore lol

dude if u hear ticking then its not something scraping, more then likely engine or exhaust leak(but you would hear that a lot more then just some occasions)...

anyways did it happen again? the noise that is.

on my car, the flaps thing that hangs underneath the car tore off. it made the flaping noise, but it did it on a regular basse as i spead up; so i took it off.

I race my KA to about 120(where it limits) probably 4-5 times a week. The SR isn't the only engine in the world that is capable of going past 60mph.

Hmmm must have been virbation that pissed something off ok it happened only once and it was so hard and loud it moved my Mirror up and inch and turned towards Passenger all the way... bad vibrate...umm hasnt happened again after some runs like the 305 Camaro i stomped...and some other late for work things..jk i dont go over 85-90 on way to work no matter how late
