Hi I have a golf III 1993 5 dorr with a vr6 I think code is aaa, Its a modified car from the vw factory built to the director 1st owner, now recently the car radiator hose burst and since the car has been to a garage where they have changed valve lfters and chain tensiners, and now the car ticks and studders, If i put a screw driver toching along side spark cable and earth the other side and see small sparks, that is not good right?
My real question is that as my car has no distributer where is the coil.?
And is it possible that chain is missplaced by 1 tooth on cam cogs?
There is a tube going from top left of head passes a sensor ? and into the intake it leaks oil by sensor , its a 2.8 dohc that before would run like the wind and now is a studdering diesel! all answers apprichiated.

You need new spark plug wires. ANd while your at it put in new plugs.

The hose you're talking about- Its a problem on all vr6's. A new VW one is 130.00. An aftermarket preformance one is about 80-100 new. Replace it cuz its causing a vacuum leak-loss of power also.

your vr6 is an OBD2 vr6 so it does not have a distrubutor, instead it has 6 little seperate coils that the spark plug wires are plugged into
