I really screwed up my rims this morning i went to car next to a curb and heard this really loud grinding sound and i knew it was the rims gettin scratched up so i need a way to smooth it the grind marks. does sand paper work or will it just scratch it up even more? What should I use to get it smooth again that I can do it myself because I planned on working on my car this weekend anyway.

They rims need to be polished out, then rechromed.

Pretty much they will fixs the scratches. Acid strip it. Polish it. Then do the dipping. You might as well buy another rim for the price.

yep, if it scratched through the crome, they are done. Recrome them (witch might not be worth it considering the prices of chrome these days) or buy a new one, or leave it alone. Those are your options
