I think that guy is an idiot, I mean come on, your finger or your ring. It should've been the ring all the way.

Sorry, but i can't stop laughing at this... They cut off his finger AND lost the ring :lol2:

Considering any half-ass jeweler could restore the ring like new.........

The article did say that they could have saved a PORTION of his finger; maybe when they showed him how much they could save he decided it wasn't worth it.

Also, says something about how much his marriage means to him.

Does suck though. Tough decision.

It would suck even more if she decided to leave him...

I understand the sentiment...I also understand fingers don't grow back...And having the ring restored gives them a nice excuse to renew their vows...but maybe the guy would be intact for the ceremony...duh!

I wonder if he said that before or after they gave him the morphine?

Perhaps if I was that dedicated to my marriage, I would be having a better year.:( I truly respect his steadfast commitment to his wife. I need to be more like him.

Id rather have the ring than my finger, Though if i ever did go to war Id keep the ring on my dog tags so its closer to my heart.

? did he make that decision before or after the morphine?

As much as I love my husband, its only a ring. It could've been fixed if it got cut. I would not have had my finger cut off for a ring. Shit its not middle earth.

But I do admire his dedication to his wife. Too bad more people don't have that dedication to their loved ones. Wish I did.

And somethnig I was just wondering, how would he have worn his wedding ring without a finger? On the other hand I guess? And what if they wound up splitting up? That'll be an awfully big reminder of his love for her at the time and for whoever he winds up dating or marrying in the future. Not something I'd wanna see on my man, the reminder of his love for another woman.
