Hinkbone's Van Update!

I'm beginning to think it's the dreaded Transmission problem now. My van was shimming between 40 and 50 mph , then quitting if you let off gas or reached pass 55mph. Well if we take the OVERDRIVE off, it doesn't shimmy like with it on. So leads me to believe it's the tranny instead of tire, half shafts, etc. Any input from my Fellow Caravaners? We just put a motor in it last year, I really hate to not put a tranny but my hubby says no way we're buying a TOYOTA. I just hate the note and really love my van. So do ya'll think it could be the tranny doing what it does with the overdive off or would that make a difference and it could still be the tire's, half shafts, etc. Really getting desperate here :screwy:

I think I have bad news for you. It sound like the tranny is bad. If it only happens when you put in overdrive then the gears aren't working properly. Sorry for the bad news. Happy Toyota hunting!

The Overdrive off button is a little button you press and a little light lights up right? That means the O/D is off right? Now ya'll gotta reALIZE i AM A WOMAN AND NOT TOO GOOD AT ANY AUTO STUFF. Can't even type without hitting the Caps lock button as you can see. I tell you this is a really great place to find out auto problems though. Murph.....Thanks a lot for trying to help everyone, I see you answer a lot of post
