Has anyone towed a 4x4 automatic without a trailer? I can tow my honda accord automatic with some slight "compensations"--stopping every two hundred miles and running the car through the gears--but not sure if running the toyota is possible.
Thanks!

Disconnect the rear propellor shaft at both ends after you mark them so you can replace them exactly where they were. Tow forever.
With everything connected, don't tow over 35 mph and for 50 miles.

Thanks Brian,
just stow the shaft in the back and reinstall it? Any time / distance limits with the automatic tranny? Neutral, steering free and off to the races? Bill

Yes. Without the rear propellor shaft, and with the truck in 2WD mode, your tranny will not know you are moving. No limit.
