That depends on what you have in your car and what your doing when your shifting(racing, fuel economy, etc.)

typically you want to shift a little bit beyond 3,000RPM for best fuel economy...For racing however let your rpms climb to near the redline to hit the sweet spot where you will get the most HP and torque

In a 90 Mustang, max torque is reached at either 5400 or 5500 rpms, that's where you want to shift for make power and speed.

I picked up a set of 17x9 Cobra R's (chrome) from OE Wheels on eBay. Got the whole set including centers, lugs, and stems for $600. I caught a special offer about 3 months ago. Keep your eye out.

?????

On my 5.0L V8 I tend to shift at 2000rpm, sometimes lower for fuel economy, sure I tend to get to higher speeds slower, but I find it great to save fuel.

If I want to race it, I tend to shift anywhere between 4000-5000rpm.

I don't bother redlining it at all, unless I'm racing someone else, which is rare.
