Ok i am buying some new rims. I am looking at the exels brand rims, (F-1,Rh-5) I was wondering are these good rims.

And also the width is 7 inches is that to narrow???

Yea, from what I've heard you don't want to go more narow than stock (which seems very logical). Also I'm concerned by the fact that I can't find anything about these wheels, not even a manufacturer web site. The only thing I found was on ebay and the wheels were for civics..

Good and light = expensive generally.

Look into enkei (my favorites are RPM2 and RP02-J) and 5-Zigen (my favorite is the FN01-RC). They are both reasonable priced and light and could be considred "name brand".

What do you drive? If you happen to have a base model (like me.... ) then 7" would be fine because that's an improvement over the (either 6" or 6.5", I don't remember which). But yes, don't ever downgrade, stay with the same size, or if anything, go bigger.

edit: doh, just realized you have 2 threads about the same thing and I just responded to both, saying basically the same thing in each. oh well....

Even the stock 16's are 8" wide. I have a base and would NEVER consider 17x7 or even 16x7. My aftermarket 16's I have are 8" wide and when I get 17's next spring I am going to look into 8 or maybe even 9" wide wheels. You got to be able to fit at least stock size tires on there and dont want to short yourself on the width of teh tire, which in 17's case is a 245 width.

I got 5 zigen FNC01-16x7's so I can put my tires on them. I have 4 mastercraft 225/55/16 so i should be fine. 1 inch from my diameter will not hurt me.
I know alot of you may say thats to small of a rim but thats all i can afford, and it looks fine, and the only wiegh 14 pounds a piece!!!

The base model sohc has 15x6 (maybe 6.5.... don't remember exactly). But I agree with what you're saying Stealthee, it would be stupid to go smaller than stock.

If your going with 16's then 225 should be fine. 225/55's are the stock 16" tires. I have 245/50/16's on my 16" chrome wheels sitting in the garage.

If all you can afford is a downgrade from stock then why are you going to buy it? wait longer, and spend the money on an UPGRADE.

I am upgrading, but i am not going for larger wheels.
But lighter wheels 39 pounds to 15 pounds per wheel. 16 inch is fine for me. ANd BTW i have been saving for along time and this is what i want.

39lbs stock? I think not, my 17 chome wheels werent more than 25lbs.

I was more talking about an upgrade as far as traction.

I just looked up the wheels. If you get the 5Zigen FN01-RC wheels they look exactly the same, and come in wider sizes.
