drive train clunk

I have a 2003 sierra that clunks when the tranny shifts from first to second real pronouced second to third not as bad third to overdrive real slight. Rought shifting really shows up when pulling my boat. I was wondering if anyone else was having these problems. I just contacted the BBB has any one else done this or been thru arbartion with the same problem so I can be prepared thanks.

Has your dealer looked at it yet?

There is a software update that applies to most of the 2003s that addresses harsh shift and idle stability.

Try that first.

had it in 4 times dealer said its normal? I got rid of my 92 s-10 it had 130000 miles on it and it had a tighter drive train and no clunks or hard shifts. Thanks for the reply.

check for proper ride hight. i found one that was slightly lower on the right front. It caused a spring slap in the rear due to the uneven ride hight
