Hello`` newbie to this forum here , I've got a question that needs to be answered, I own a 96 metro with a 1.0 liter fuel injected motor, that needs to be replaced. Is it possible to swap it out with a 95 carburated motor block?
I plan on swapping my fuel injection system to the 95 carbed,,eg distributer, complete intake, exhaust manifold ect.
if any one has an idea or has done this , please let me know.
Thanks !!

95 is injected too, book says they are different but not sure what is, i know the bell housing on the tranny is the same. i think in 97 they went to a crank angle sensor on the front of the engine. if yours doesn't have that it shouls switch over but not 100% sure

Thanks for the reply Crvett69```but yes my FI engine has the "crank angle sensor" located in the block, bottom, front , just underneath the end of the crank, the block has a boss that has a machined hole were the sensor fits in, the top of the sensor can be easily seen with the belt
drive gear off,
And the carburated engine, dose'nt have the sensor, and the block does'nt even have a boss in the casting for it.
To me it sounds like a no-go swap,
well thanks again for the reply

That may be true, but the carburated engine I bought was shipped from Japan, and seller said it is sopposed to be compatible to swap
my FI components to the carbed engine,it looks like every thing is
interchangeable (so far) but we stopped when we found the difference
in the block casting for the "crank sensor", or I should say minus the
mounting hole for it. I do have photo's of what I'm talking about.
I'll post them in my photo gallery.
