Hi. This is my first post, so I would like to say hello to everyone. I'm looking for bodykits designed to fit a 92 Firebird, yet so far, I've been unsuccessful. Does anyone know where I might be able to find some nice kits for my car? Any and all help will be appreciated.

Welcome to the board. Now, are you trying to make a Trans Am clone, or are you going for a "domestic rice" look?

I have heard of one body kit-not a trans am clone, but just one that i guess looks nice from a buddy of mine. It was in a mag, i'll talk to him about which one it was in and get back to you.

Well, honestly, I'm not quite sure... I'm just looking for something that will make my model stand out from all the others that are around my area.

If you want it to stand out, leave it stock. No one leaves their cars stock anymore.

I agree....but unfortunately, in my area, most of, if not all of the others, are stock... which is why I'm looking into body kits in order to make mine a bit more distinguished.

Any links will suffice... I'm just trying to get an idea of what types are available for my model...

I'd say go with something similar to Silver87TA's look. Maybe switch it up with the paint job too. You could probably put some aftermarket Trans-Am style ground effects and do a unique two-tone paint job that would stand out nicely without having a gigantic wing hanging off the back or anything. Its all about the subtlety.

OK guys.... this isnt my exact car.... I borrowed the pic off a website I found while searching for body kits... but aside from mine having T-tops, it's exactly the same.

It's a beaut...aint it folks? But again, my problem is that everyone and their uncle seems to have a firebird around here... and none of them have any sort of ground effects or anything that really makes them stand out... which is why I really want to switch up the looks... As far as the bird on the hood is concerned, I'm not really wanting to put graphics on it... I like a sleek, solid look that forces you to look at the entire car, instead of just the graphics...

A two tone paint scheme might look alright, but for some reason, the white just really appeals to me. If nothing else, I just want to give my car a different flavor if you will... I've seen some body kits... and some of them look nice... but it's really hard to find one that will fit my model (most sites have 82-90 and then 93-and-up body kits... completely skipping over the 91-92 models....

Hehe.../blush :icon16:

I think the problem you're having with the locating of a 90's compatible body kit may be the doors? I think the swoop effect on the bottom is absolutely killer, but it might make it tough for putting a body kit on. I found a kit on www.fbodymotorsports.com that says will fit 82-92, but may just be original replacement. Good luck with it.

It has a different look than I was thinking for some reason in regards to the ground effects...it already has them in that pic, but they are slightly different from the earlier 80's versions. If you want to stick with white, maybe go with a pearlized or deep clear coat over the white to make it look deeper or brighter. (in other words, lots of coats of clear coat) I wouldn't put a hood bird on it, I don't think it would look right on that particular year/model. They have the aero style rear spoiler for the 90's birds that came on some from the factory that I think would help it out...it was slightly different in that it had a slight shelf that jutted out the back as opposed to the more plain wrap around look of the earlier models.(thats a terrible description but I cant think of how to describe it...look on ebay, they have an aero style rear spoiler on there that is the same thing im talking about more or less). You may also want to go with some kind of rims different than those...maybe the GTA style or believe it or not, the American Racing style rims that are black and silver/alluminum...they are like a fat 3 spoke rim that is slightly twisted looking...
