bought need for speed underground 2 last night!

yeah, i never really beat the first underground game, i got damn close. somthing like 109 races of 111. but i was tired of playing it, i had all the cars and upgrades. and i dont really feel like waiting tell march for GT4 to come out. so i went down to the local zit shop and picked me up the new computer game. it takes somthing like 2gigs of free space, 256 mem and a well rounded graphics card, i bought a $699 dell last year and she runs like the nile with the game. anyway, continuing on: the beging sceen starts where the last one ends (i guess) but theirs a twist! (suspence drawing near) somone trys to kill you by driving over your car! 5 months later your on a plain going to live with your sister in the new town of Farview (a open map 6 part metropoliton area with everything from an airport, to bussy downtow streets). you start of in a nissan z trying to find your sisters shop in downtown farview, while learning the physics of the game. some new features of the game are intresting, yet diffuicult to master in the first 6 hours of game play (all i've played so far) their is a cingular message center on the top of the screen to link you to a message center for all the heads up around town to were the big races are, and even esay pickings.
The driving physics are still the same, a little diffrent going from a bad ass awd lancer in the last game to a stock nissan 240z rwd! once you find your way to your sisters shop you have the choice of 6 or so diffrent POS cars. once you sellect your car it sets your sisters shop as your "home garage" where you can dyno/tune every car in your inventory as well as setup and tune your car for diffrent types of races ie circiut, drag, drift, xrace, and some kind of eliet race group im not to yet. once you buy an upgrade you can tune the the area in witch you had upgraded from stock. you can tune your f/r shocks, f/r springs, f/r sways, final driving ratios, f/r downforce, **ecu air/fuel rpm based curves for total controle of power through your rpm band** im possitive it gets even better, i dont even have all the first stage uprades and body kits yet! you defently need to have a general understanding of how things work to be comeditive and tear it up, or you'll be lost and will spend most of your time in the Dyno shop and test track facility figuring out what makes what work bettr with every change your car endures. eit still feels like the first underground but its a 100% diffrent game, where in the first one you were limited to only races, and no crusing. in this new nfs2 you find and even start your own races, makeing $ for upgrades, also developing apperience points while crusing around town doing cool menovers getting to your next destination of choice, their are no set rules it reminds me ALOT of the Grand Theift Auto games with the open map and points of intrest. there is an intigrated GPS map you can toggle to that will show you all the diffrent types shops you have discoverd, or races you know about at that point in time in the game. its preatty advanced, and deffently cool. i think its a game i'll be playing well into the time GT4 comes out!!
anyone else have the game yet?

You wrote all that and you forgot replay. Me and my friends in the first game were mad because everytime we dragged something would happen that one of us didnt see like my friend crashes into a car goes in the air and i go under both of them wich looks pretty cool. and couldnt have nothin to show for it because they didnt see. i play it on my laptop i just bought, wich plays it realy good. Ya, I've been playing for awhile now too. Almost done with it. I've gone through several cars, but I haven't got the eclipse yet. Right now I'm driving a silver turboed IS300. The parts I like about the new game is that graphically its better than the 1st game, and theres a bigger map for you to play around in. Also, you can get H2s and Navigators and put 22in spinners on and then turbo them and run around, haha, now thats fun.
What I don't like about the game, and its mostly the same as the 1st game, what is going on with all the rice body kits and graphics? They don't have any good looking ones. And you have to put body kits and graphics on your car, or you won't get as many points, whats up with that. Why can't I just have a stealth IS300 or eclipse to cruise a round in? I don't need graphics or neon lights to be fast. And all those rice things just lead to more rice cars on the real street because people think whats cool in a video game must be cool on the street. Just look at that shitty ass 240sx that Pimp My Ride did. What a disgrace to the scene.

hell i like it. i would never rice it down in real life, but it's okay for the game's purposes.
i haven't played much, but right now i got all stage 1 upgrades and a stage 2 motor upgrade on my tiburon.
yeah i know, but i'm holding out until i finally get the eclipse.
my guess is that the clipse is awd like in the first nfsu.
i'd go online to race you guys, but i'm playing on ps2 and apparently you can't play people with different platforms online. kind of lame.

i opened the eclipse and 3000 GT and Supra. The eclipse is a GSX becuase its all-wheel-drive. the supra doesn't come with a stock turbo unlike the GSX. i've very disapointed in that. Never bought the 3kgt so not sure if its a vr4. i'm dissapointed that they don't list the modle for the cars. and the lack so far of a neon srt4, a prelude, ion redline, civic SI hatchback. they could have done a lot better with the cars, like the civic SI could have had the factory ground affects, and fog lights could work in game.

Gonna need a lot more than 256 RAM to run it WELL. My computer with 768 RAM, 128 Nvidia GeForce4 ti4600 can't run it on full everything.
Two things bug me. The refilling "NOS" for "insane driving", and the fact you can't rotate your car to look at from all angles! (at least on the PC version you can't, when in shops and such).
And btw.. the lancer in the first NFSU was not AWD, and it's the 240SX, not the 240Z in NFSU2.. and the town is called Bayview.

Regular Lancer - no awd
Lancer Evolution - AWD
The 3000gt is a vr-4, it comes with a boost gauge and 320 hp... AWD as well.
its a fun game but it also gets repetitive. I think the addition of the H2 and Escalade was interesting but really unnecessary.... I would rather have had a 3000zxtt, dodge srt-4, older civic hatchback or a 3g eclipse than the SUV's they crammed into the game. While they are nice to 'pimp out' they just don't feel necessary in a RACING game...

muhaha im at like 50% complete got a 10 star GSX with umm like 500 horses :) top speed 238 MPH with the last trany mod u get control of the individual gear ratios... in the ECU/turbo if u want max HP and torque u should lower the lowest RPMs and cap all the high ones... its not to great for the takeoffs but it gives alot of speed and power high end... the best thing i think is that u can upgrade the trany to 6 gears... its byfar the most realistic tuner game so far... the only improvements i would make were actualy putting real body kits in the game...
so far
there are some that look like the drifter and the blitz kit

actually the most realistic car game i ever played was Motor City Online (MCO) i played that game for about a year and a half , dont know why they got rid of it ,it was a good game....the thing was that you actually needed to know somthing about car to play it, in that game you didnt just add parts like in NFSU you had to build a motor from the ground up.... cams , crank, pistons, connectiong rods, ignition , intake mainifold , headers , carb, pullys , heads , cooling system , luberication system , fuel system , and block all had to be purchased seperately , then build useing the stats of each parts , and reading the power maps and curves , then you could tune it and thats just the motor , you could also do all that to the drive train and everything else . it wasnt all "if it cost the most then its the best" it went by what worked the best together and what was compatible. you could also swap many parts and blocks from car to car...as you can see i still <3 this game , forgive my obsession .....

well after 2 days of playing nfsu2 i've already unlocked all stage 2 upgrades, skyline, eclipse, tt, and finished my 2nd sponcership. im crusing with the celica with 5.99 style. its just compleatly unfair, i win every race by 7seconds min.
