How do you change the water pump. Do you have to lift the engine? I spent all day working on it. Didn't get it and put it back together and now it won't run? Please help!

so, to reidderate what you just typed. your car was running before you had the idea to replace your o2 pump. you went to work on your car and firgured that your skill were lacking the nessissary requirements to acheave victory over the evil DSM warlard that had taken command over your water pump? so you put it back together to the best of your abilities, and now the car wont start? is that a fair accusation? is that the general consensis?

is it the 1.8 or 2.0? if its the 2.0 and you removed the timing belt you might have it timed incorrectly. i guess the same would be true if you have to take the 1.8 timing belt off also.
my best suggestion would be to get the haynes/chiltons manual that covers the 1st gen. it covers the 1.8 and 2.0 turbo and non turbo.
