Once and for all lets decide, which car is better daily driver?

Racing is all about the turbo, but getting arund town? The 3.0 is a much easier to live with on a daily basis. The turbo is a little too Jeckyl and Hyde for me.

I'll agree with this. My 944-S2 is easy to drive around town in, and still have some nice grunt when I push it. Quite nice.

they are both fine as daily drivers. Depends on what you want out of your drive, they are both fast. The n/a is a little more refined.

Couldn't agree with u more ;) I have read that s2 has lots of power in low rpm too, so it's not so annoying to wait till turbo kicks on...
Turbo is better for racing, cause u hold high rpms all the time so the turbo is working all the time ;)

i only run my turbo in the summer, but i have no problems driving it though town, stuck in traffic, on motorways or back roads. it has a remarkable amount of low end torque of any <3.0L car i've driven.

i've never driven an s2. and i'm willing to bet that a lot of people making a comparison here have never driven both cars back to back either. i'm a firm believer in making my own mind up about such things.

everyone has different criteria when choosing a car, so it's a choice only you can make. drive them both back to back and see which car YOU prefer. my 2p (2c).

hey jekyll. What are the mods to the 3sgte?

My 3sgte is 100% bone stock original with 200,222 miles ~ never opened :)

My power comes from:
T3T4 turbo charger, GReddy IC, water injection, RMR intake manifold, very open exhaust 23+ psi of boost (appropriate fuel system and controllers).
There is a more complete mod list on my Site. Just click the www. :)

--- sorry to bump in on someone else's thread, I just saw the J&H reference and couldn'r resist.

Not to complain or anything, and I'd really like to see your mods on your web site, but the link doesn't work. It's listed as just http://www. I'm afraid that there is more needed. ;-)

well as an owner of both cars i'll say this me chipped 86 turbo will crush my S2 at the drag strip running low 12's but it only gets 10% of my seat time compared to my m30 equipted 1989 s2 with a fire hawk chip.. rememember its all about torque around town and with lower gears and no turbo to wait for the S2 handels better, stops quicker, and can pull away from a stop lite in 2nd gear...

Yea, I'm really gaining more and more affection for that second gear pulling from a stop. Do you have pointers to the M30 and fire hawk chip mods? I may yet have to do that in the future. But for right now, I've got lot's of driving technique learning to do before I exceed even the OEM setup for my S2. But yo never know. More torque is always welcome.

How has the mods been performing for you? Has reliability or drivability been negatively affected at all?
