Tune up every time you use it?????
That's running a 150 shot without running colder plugs, or detonating the hell out of the ones you have.
Wet kits are more drivable. Running a dry shot you really should upsize one injector size, then tuning the A/F becomes a pain. Right now I'm running 30 lb injectors when I only need 24's, and it's pig rich idling. Kinda sucks. I was gonna run a dry setup, hence the 30s, but now I'm gonna step down to 24's with a wet kit.
Neither is necessarily "Better" it just depends on your application and use of it. I would personally stick to a wet kit. Especially on a Ford, because they can't take detonation. Lean out a cylinder, and BOOM!. Engine time.

let's clear something up here... NOS is a company which makes parts for nitrous systems. it stands for Nitrous Oxide Systems, and it's just one of many companies who make such kits and parts. ricers use the acronym NOS to represent all nitrous systems, and it's annoying.

Isnt direct port nitrous injection the best???? they have like biggner kits(zex) that are a dry shot of n2o thats injected though your airfilter

direct port is where there is a fuel and nitrous nozzle for each individual cylinder. those kits are for when you're making massive horsepower with nitrous, what's known as a 'big shot'. yes it makes the most horsepower, but it's not necessarily 'the best'. if you only want to top out at about a 200 shot use a single nozzle system, and the next step up is a plate system, then a direct port system. obviously multiple stages increases the effect. once you get into big shots you need to have better pistons rings, as large nitrous shots will melt stock rings.
the zex kit you're referring to is called a 'cheater' system, and i believe it's only good for a 75 shot.

The only nitrous system I'd ever consider using is a port injected wet system. Dry, if your computer messes up your motor is dead. If you have a wet plate system/single injector before the plenum, if you backfire, you're in for a biiiiiig boom, since your entire intake is full of nitrous and fuel. Port injected wet system helps prevent lean conditions and extremely destructive backfires. None are 100% safe, but nothing is.
As for the NOS thing, face it, NOS now means ANY nitrous oxide system... Its like, Post-its and Xerox... Both are brands, as well as a synonym for their product. In nearly every thread regarding nitrous, at least one person uses "nos" not in reference to the brand.

A plate system that goes between the upper and lower EFI intake is the best system for safety, cost, hp on an EFI 5.0.
A fogger(direct injection) kit unless running 200+HP shot is a waste of money and the added time of maching and install makes it even more of a mistake.
Dry can be dangerous cause you are overdriving your injectors and fuel pump to achieve the extra fuel required.
Wet(non plate/fogger) dumps raw fuel into the upper EFI plenum which was never intended to have a liquid in it which is begging for puddling. Hence why I'm not fond of this either.

Zex kits are good up to 125hp shot, and Ive never heard of it being referred to as a cheater system. The big diffence between dry and wet is that dry systems are limited in the amount of hp you can get out of them. 150hp shot is as big as you would wanna go on a dry system, after that you would need an additional fuel source which means a wet system. And like GTStang said intake plenums weren't designed for fuel to be sprayed into them so in my opinion on a fuel injected car a wet system is a lot more dangerous.
You should look at nitrous as an enhancement so you aren't dependent on it. Build your engine up as much as you can and if you still want a little more you can go after a small shot like 75 or 100hp shot which is pretty safe.

it really depends on what size shot you are running to what size motor ... i run a 75 wet shot ZEX kit to my v6 and have never had a problem out of it
