Hard to start when engine cools off...

Hi all I have a 2000 S 10 about 125K miles on it.
Heres the problem it will not start when the engine is cold, over the summer i noticed that it would take onr or two initial cranks to start it but now that the weather is below 45 degrees it takes 15 to 20 tries and sometimes doesnt start until the battery dies and i have to put cables on it.
I was told by a friend it could be a bad COLD START VALVE but I have never heard of such a thing.
Is there anybody who has had such a problem when the temp drops below 45 or so.
After the first start the engine starts all day long as long as its warm.

Thanks
Matt

Yes, do a tuneup.

Do the normal maintanence stuff first.

Could be a bad cap and rotor that needs replacing.

I dunno if this applys to ur blazer but my blazer is 20 years old so what i have to do in the morning when its cold is push the gas down twice before i start the engine... but um, your car is probably too new to have to do this.

I agree with BlazerLT, do a tuneup including fuel filter and air filter. This will be the cheapest route. If the problem persists then go deeper.

Never pump the gas pedal on a fuel injected vehicle.
