Not too many people know about the Civic HX, but it gets phenomenal gas mileage (36city / 44highway) using a gas engine with no hybrid. It's a lean burn cycle engine. Does anyone know how this works?

A lot of people know about the HX, it's nothing new. Been around for about 12 years now.
