Myeclipse, to say something positive, maybe ohrintl was just trying to share a subscription to CARFAX. As such, perhaps rewording his request and offering to pay part of the cost would have been the right thing to do.

But since he hasn't responded and hasn't reworded his request or anything of that nature, I can only believe that the forum has spoken correctly, especially since several Mods have contributed to this thread.

And I don't especially appreciate being called a moron. You don't know me or your opinion would be different.

Quickly whizzing through your COT history, you've not been in off topic since one lonely little post in February,a forgettable little excursion about some film you had seen.....

Is that site really any good? Cause my dad uses it when we are looking to buy a car, and just for the hell of it, we ran our cars though it..and...many of the things that show up aren't correct, or accidents that happened to our cars aren't on there.

any know of something like this happening, or does carfax just hate us?

My brother works for a dealership, and part of his job is to run carfaxes on cars they take in as trades. He says that carfaxes are only as good as the people that enter the data (logical) but only dealers really use it. Many things are repaired out of the loop, so they are not recorded. But it can be useful. I once got a carfax on a "one-owner car" that had been resold like 5 times on two continents, been in for recall 8 times for faulty axles, and been passed through many dealerships as a lemon and resold to unsuspecting buyers. But we fixed it up fine and it's still on the road today.
