Best P2P File Sharing Program?

What do you think?

I used to use Kazaa Lite, than got fed up with all the corrupt files. So than I switched to Limewire, and thought it was great.

Just wondering if there's any better ones? But not things like iMIRC, or whatever it's called, don't feel like learning how to use it.

My friend uses eDonkey (no not eMule, eDonkey) and I've never heard of it, has anyone?

I like limewire better then Kazaa lite but I rarely ever use either.

mIRC wasn't designed for file-sharing, but you can still find good stuff if you know where to look.

BitTorrent is probably the best, but if you use the "official" client there's no search function.

Bit torrent is my favorite. Use azureus for client though, very nice, and no spyware.

Shareazza is the best - It uses bit torrents. You download shareazza, then go to a site like suprnova.org and download a torrent while you have shareazza running. Shareazza cues up the download, the you can close the site and download it anytime you want in shareazza.

Bittorrent has owned the bandwidth of many p2p users (myself included) and its service has grown MASSIVELY in the past year -- for anyone who is unaware, several internet bandwidth tracking companies have all fingered Bittorrent as accounting for roughly 40% of ALL the internet traffic combined. FOURTY PERCENT! That is incredible. Unfortunately, also for anyone who is unaware, the last week or so has seen several crushing blows dealt to the Bittorrent community, with many of the major sites being forcefully, or voluntarily, shutdown under pressure from (surprise surprise) Hollywood and the record companies. Ever the whiney babies about "their property" being openly traded, they've taken drastic steps against the community. After all, our p2p file sharing is supposedly abuse of the system, and deemed criminal. But charging 14+ dollars for a plastic disc isn't? Anyway, before I tumble off into the much-travelled route of bitching out the RIAA/MPAA and their despicable practices, I'll make my own recommendation. I've been using Soulseek for a couple years now, and have been pretty happy with it. No ads, little overhead, chat features, que lists, etc. I'd been using Bittorrent chiefly for a while now, but until the large .torrent tracking sites can hopefully get back online (overseas maybe?) I find myself falling back on Soulseek. I haven't used Kazaa since I installed and began running cleanly off a new harddrive (and my computer thanks me for it!)

I use Limewire also but I gotta say Bit Torrent is the best. So go with Bit Torrent/Shareazza.

I use Edonkey and it's a very excellent program ..

You have to add servers to it and you will find a lot

of things ..

The name of the program is EDONKEY2000 .

I use also ARES 1.8 and it's too fast .

torrentreactor.com is good
It friggin sucks suprnova went down - that's like all i used. torrentreactor doesn't have nearly as much stuff (or at least what I'm looking for) but it still has a shitload. It's a good site IMO

I must be special, because adaware scans nightly and I always have no new spyware objects.

Just call me lucky i guess.

I use Bittorrent (Azureus client) chiefly, using www.lokitorrent.com (http://www.lokitorrent.com) as my primary torrent site. When I can't find something there, however, I use eDonkey2000...the Razorback server has zillions of files, and I can almost always find super obscure stuff on it (though it usually takes a while to get that stuff).

What frustrates me about Shareaza is the fact that you have to wait a while for the whole file to download. It's very frustrating...

Don't you have to do that with any download?

i think he might be talking about a preview feature. these are very helpfull for decietfully named videos. it sucks when you wait a while for a movie to download and it turns out to be something else.

I've always been a fan of Imesh, but as the riaa stepped in, it got FULL of messed up songs, etc. It also has a few spyware attached to it, but if you know how to get rid of it, its no biggie. Limewire was another one I've had before, and it wasn't as advanced as Imesh. Right now, the other one I'm using is WinMX. It's not bad, it just needs some more ppl on there to join. It's got a totally different interface, but it's about the same as limewire, in my opnion. I've also had bearshare in the past. That one didnt last long... (comp crashed, and never downloaded it again.) My hubby preferred it, I didn't.

I use Limewire (got it 3 days ago and love it). I've tried using Kazaa like 5 times before, but I still don't know how to search for stuff and download. Its way too complicated.

I just finished downloading "The Italian Job" off the web...720mb and took 2 days. Not bad, considering the file size and my transfer rate of 11kbps. It has excellent quality too.

BTW, does anyone know how to open .avi or .asf files?? I can't play these movies on Win Media Player. Help? Or is it just a corrupted file from Limewire?

You can get Direct Connect from http://www.neo-modus.com

I haven't had any problems with it at all.

I remember direct connect, I had it when Napster was the shit. Downloaded my first p2p porno with it, hahaha.

I used bearshare, I downloaded an 8mb slipknot song in 30 seconds. Faster than I've ever got on anyother program, including kazaa lite, i hated that, it NEVER worked, and NEVER found what i was looking for and it NEVER downloaded what i did find.

Limewire, free edition. Seriously, dont see the advantages of pro really. Plus, my free works on turbocharged all the time, haha. Way better then WinMX.

Having used exeem for a while now, it is not very stable at all. Do not run while you have other critical applications running, or intensive apps like CD burning, movie files and shit.

HAHAH...lol they are basically the same. I use pro, but I downloaded that off Limewire. I used to have the free one, but one day I decided to surf limewire and downloaded the Limewire PRO 4.8.1 installation. Just for the heck of it
