Cupholder lights installed.

I broke down and got Coolerman's cup holder light kit and wanted to let everyone know they are very cool. I'll try and get a picture of them in the dark one of these days, but for now this will have to do. I got the low powered green ones, BTW. Just enough light so I can find the openings, but not distracting.

I also got the Coolerman reverse light kit, but I haven't actually attached the lights yet. However, the kit is very well thought out and very high quality.

Next, the clutch interlock kit! :D

Uh, and that was after I cleaned it up a bit. I found money, french fries, dead bugs, paper, pens, you name it! :D I should have done a thorough cleaning, but didn't. The seat fixer people are going to be grossed out when I take my truck in for repair.

Can you still take the holders out??

Yes, the rubber inserts are flexible enough that they slip right over the LED's. No problem there.

The hard part is getting the holes in the right place (uh, I didn't quite get them right!), and getting the rubber inserts cut nicely. Otherwise, it's a pretty easy job.

If you leave the rubber inserts in place and drill through them and the console at the same time the holes will line up perfectly. Then you can remove the liners and trim them to be a little larger than the LEDS. I used a paper punch to make the holes :D
Since the holes are invisible (black rubber and in a narrow area) you can really screw up the holes and it still looks good! I cut square holes for one guy that were 1/2" square and you could not even see them!

I just got a 2002 Xterra and am interested in this mod. What's involved in the install? Do the LED's come with a resistor already in place? Where to they connect into the factory wiring? Do the LEDs stay on all the time or do they come on with the factory lights? Is there a website with install info? Will they work on an auto tranny Xterra?

Thanks in advance,

What's involved? Go here (http://www.globalsoftware-inc.com/coolerman/coolkitfivecupholder.htm)
Go here (http://www.globalsoftware-inc.com/coolerman/coolkitspricinglist.htm) for pricing and options for all the CoolKits.
The Leds come on with the park lights and can be dimmed using the dimmer control. I have kits for Autos and manuals and unless Nissan redesigned the 2002 this kit will work. If it doesn't I will work with you to make it work no charge. The kit has the dropping resistor built in, all you do is make to connections to the factory wiring under the console. No long wires to run for the Auto.

Excellent info and design. I plan on getting one of these kits from you shortly.

Looks good Chuck.

FYI for anyone interested ...

The CIBS Kit and the Reverse Light Kit are both excellent mods and I highly recommend them.
