Replacing Motormounts

95 s10 2wd, 4.3.
Noted that both motormounts look "squished" to the point that the pan is right on the crossmember (Thought the kid had bottomed it out and bent the crossmember). The rubber on the mounts actually sag to the point that the rubber actually covers the top of the bolts. Any ideas how to get to them? I started drilling some of the rubber out to get to the upper front bolt (On the block). I got that one loose but not all the way out yet. And how th heck do you get the the lower bolt?? I'm thinkin "Sawzaw"...........

sawzaw sure won't help you when it comes time to put everything back together.

I found that sometimes jacking the motor up a hair helps me get to some motor mount bolts.
if you can jack it up off something solid by the harmonic balancer, otherwise a flat, broad board under the oil pan with the jack under it.

If you have an engine hoist it's easier raising it from the top

Thanks, No problem with getting the motor lifted. Just that the rubber is so squished, smashed or deformed that its actually laying over the upper bolts. I was just thinkin a sawzaw to cut the rubber out of the mount so I can get to the bolts with a wrench. I did manage to drill the corner off the rubber out with a 1/4" drill bit.

Thanks,
Gene
