Lucky or what??

I didn't really believe in luck but lately i do. I have a Civic EX coupe and its loud and a little flashy and my buddy Andrew has a Mazda B2200 pickup...ok. One night we were driving from my house to my gf's house on back roads, he was in front of me and we were speeding, but not too bad, and anyway a car started following me and when i pulled into Michelle's driveway, this car followed Andrew to his house (4 blocks away) and called the cops meanwhile and they cited him for careless driving. Total BS. He planned on fighting it in court because it was an outrageous claim and up to 8 pts on his liscense. In ND you get 6 pts until your 18. He was pulled over by the Judge (who is a total pr!ck) of all people.

So he has his liscense until mid January and this happened in the beginning of Nov.

Yesterday Dec 11, We were out in a school parking lot out of town and we were screwing around spinning cookies in my Civic with the E brake. We drove in my car for a half hour, until one of my other friends arrived, at which point we switched into Andrew's truck and 2 min later a cop pulls up and cites him for Exhibition Driving. Another 4 points and $101 fine. He has such bad luck. I really should've been the one w/ the ticket. I have been driving for over 4 years and have yet to be pulled over, and i drive like an ass in my Civic.

I want to know, do you think its fair to give a kid that big of a ticket and take his liscense for whippin cookies in an abandoned parkinglot where there's nothing to hit or anything?!? Don't those damn cops have anything better to do! Sorry if someones a cop, but in my town, all the cops are total pricks.

I would suggest that you stop, because your luck will run out very fast.

Yes, very fair.

i dont understand you guys.... how is it very fair to give a kid a $100 ticket for doing donuts in an abandoned parking lot on ice??

If anything that just helps him become a better driver in the snow because he'll know how to control the car better in a spin

how do you expect to drive better in snow if you dont practice trying to control your car in slides/spins?

Then go to advanced driving classes like anyone with some common sense does.

Empty parking lot? Until he loses control and sues the owner of the lot because he got hurt for being a moron? :loser:

I've cut dognuts in all kinds of parking lots(not even abandoned ones) and never gotten in trouble. And i wouldn't expect to unless i was putting someone/thing in harm.

and its not like we were in traffic or anything. The parking lot was completely empty...no signs or cars or poles or anything. I personally think its total bullshit. But thats just me and im still a kid who likes to screw around and actually have fun once in a while. Cops should leave us alone!

OR i can save my money and do it myself like somebody with common sense

did you know you can actually gain skills by practicing something, instead of being lazy and paying somebody else to show you? It's unbelievable!

Maybe you should go to court and testify it wasn't your buddy doing the doughnuts; since he's your friend and in a jam because of you and all.

^ +1, if you think you should have gotten the ticket be a real friend and take the fall for him.

It's all about the liability. That property belongs to somebody. Why not do that stuff on your own property?

You obviously don't know how advanced driving schools work......let me explain in a nice, point-form manner for you.

Go to class and get theoretical instruction on potential driving scenarios and how to handle them
Go to test area/skid pan/track and have similated situations(including ice conditions, extreme rain, low visibility) demonstrated
Drive car yourself in simulated situation with instructor in passenger seat coaching you on things to do and how to react as events take place
Go car solo into test area with similated situation

I've been through an advanced drivers class, you do the driving after they've told you how you should handle the situation, it's a lot better way to learn, and FYI, even Igor has gone through some classes in advanced driving.
