May not be getting a Ram

Well guys, you might be upset with me. I may or may not be getting a new Dodge Ram. My dad's cousin owns a rebuild shop and has a 2000 Ford F-150 V8 Super Cab with about 50000 miles and he's offered it to me for $9000. He's got a 2001 Ram extended cab almost exactly like the 1997 I had, but it's still in the body shop and half apart and I really can't wait for them to get it done, and I don't know how much he'll want for it until it's done. But hey, a Chevy guy that works down there told me that the Ford was the best pick-up he's ever driven. It runs great and it looks good. The guy that owned it before hit a deer, and they said the only thing it did was busted the bumper, grill, windshield and bent the hood. They said the guy drove it home. I think it's a damned good deal.

They're good trucks.

Yea this one seems to be pretty good. The insurance company is only wanting to give me about 7600 bucks for my truck, which is about all it's worth. It had a rebuilt title and it wasn't in PERFECT condition. I did, however, find a 1997 Ram ext cab 4X4 very similar to mine for $7100. It has 10000 miles less than what mine had on it. I may look into it.

...and now the mental anguish begins...making the decision. Time for that +/- sheet listing the attributes of both trucks. Good luck with your decision.

Hey, weren't you going to post some pics of the dearly departed?

Sorry for not getting on here in a bit. I bought that truck today. The 2000 Ford F-150. It's nice. Nicer than my Dodge actually. I hate to say that. I haven't gotten my pictures scanned yet, but I hope to have it done shortly. I'll also try and get pics of the new Ford on here too so you all can see it.

It's only nicer than your Dodge because your Dodge is wrecked.

And it's 4 years newer. Enjoy and don't be a stranger. You mutinous dog. :D

I'm enjoying the Ford. Not as much as the Ram, but then again, I've only had it for 3 days. I actually went up and saw my poor wrecked truck today at the towing company. I had to get a couple more things off it that I couldn't get using a cavalier. I'm going to miss that truck. But like you said, the Ford is 4 years newer. And it's nicer than my dodge because... yea, my dodge is wrecked. Although the Ford does have a limited slip diff, which I am loving. I think I'll get by with it.

They're alright I guess. Best of luck with it. Maybe you won't have as much trouble as you did with that Dodge?

Does your boyfriend like it? LOL!

Well, I couldn't get the pics of my poor wrecked ram on here, but I will try to eventually, so for now, here are the pics of the new Ford. I would have taken more and better pics, but all I've got to work with is a cheap digital camera.

Fords may not be bad trucks in general.. But I swear, they look too... gentle.

Hey aleast you have a real truck now.

J/K Dogde has some respectable trucks.

That's my main problem with this truck, it has too much of a "soft" look to it. I always thought of the Dodge to have a "meaner" look, better stance. But the color of this one really makes it look a lot better.

Hey, enjoy!

One thing I though about is that you'll have a whole new set of "quirks" to figure out for the Ford.....but hopefully it won't have any problems for awhile....

Put a big hood scoop on it, or a visor or something, that will make it look mean. Fastbacks look okay on these things I think.

Have fun!

Okay guys, is someone having a masculinity problem here? Why does the truck have to look "mean"?

Hell, I could be driving a pink Toyota, if someone gets up my butt, I gonna push his face down his throat. Trucks can't be mean, but drivers can...:lol::lol:

Btw...MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!

LOL true enough. But if you are going to have a truck, why not customize it to yourself? If your personality is more like that of the pink Yoter, well then have at it. But if you want/expect some performance, and plan to use said performance/power, maybe a little off-road action now and again, then why not have the vehicle look the part?

I guess I'm uncomfortable with my sexuality then, because every truck I'll ever own will look sinister.

Looks aren't important, function is IMO. Example: stickers all over a little Honda car don't make it go faster.
