2001 Denali - low mileage, high hours

I am looking at purchasing a 2001 Yukon Denali. It was a security vehicle at work and currently has 15,000 miles on it. However, we estimate there may be close to 8,000 hours on the vehicle. My questions are:

How does the number of hours translate into miles?

Other than parts outside the engine (i.e. HVAC, alternator, etc.) what should I be concerned about?

Would the high hours sway you from looking at a truck like this?

Estimated cost will be $18-20K.

Dang that truck must have been doing quite a bit of idling; 8000 hours is almost 11 months of continual 24x7 operation. Even if the engine was running just 8 hours a day, that's about 2.7 years worth of engine operation if run everyday during that time. I have almost 14K miles on my '04 DXL and I'm almost pretty sure that it doesn't have even 1000 hours of operation.

Granted that you said that it was a security truck, I guess it shouldn't be too surprising to hear that it has that many hours on it, but still--8000 hours on a 15K mile truck?

We estimated that it ran for at least six hours a day for four years. 2 hours for each shift change and it was purchased in the fall of 2000.

Final listing price is $21,730, I bit high I believe.
