Going for all go, no show. I got the car for free, the 1.6 engine wasn't exactly my first choice, but meh, what can you do?

I want to start with the usual Intake, header, exhaust. I've googled for parts, but can't find any. I found these type of intakes off ebay, but the price seems too good to be true, and I know that when it seems that way, it usually is. Does anyone know if these are reliable? and better yet, could you point me to a website with better ones?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7940389009&category=38634

This exhaust looks decent, can anybody advise me about it?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7940031239&category=33630&sspagename=WDVW

And any info about these headers, or where to get better ones?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7939947793&category=33631&sspagename=WDVW

I probably want to go with new struts and shocks next... but I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, so if you could just help me with the things I've mentioned so far, i'll love you forever.

None of those parts are good, they all have a reputation of either not fitting the car in the first place, or breaking within a few months. You're going to have to pay if you want something good. Unfortunately I can't link you to anything specific since I've never done research on the b14 aftermarket, but I'm pretty sure Hotshot makes a header for your car, and AEM or Injen should make an intake. Not sure about exhaust, but please get anything other than Megan Racing.

Thanks for replying first of all :-D

I found these two intakes on a website you linked someone to a couple months ago, are either of these better than the other?

http://www.ptuning.com/html/Item-Desc.cfm?PartNo=PTNS4007%2D76&MakeCode=nissan&ModelCode=sentra&ModelYear=1995%2D2000%20All%201%2E6L%20Models&ModelDesc=Sentra

http://www.ptuning.com/html/Item-Desc.cfm?PartNo=PTRD1964&MakeCode=nissan&ModelCode=sentra&ModelYear=1995%2D1999%20SE%2DR&ModelDesc=Sentra

They're about the same price.

I think I found the Hotshot header you were referring to on that site too, but sadly it's only for the 2.0L. They didn't have anything period in way of exhaust. Just stupid mufflers. I don't need any heavy metal that doesn't do anything but make my car sound like it's farting thankyouverymuch.

Doesn't seem like they make much at all for the 1.6L. Is it really slow? It was hard for me to tell, because my daily driver (04 Cavalier) is an auto, and this sentra is a stick. They seem to be about the same speed even though the Cavy is a 2.2L. Is it even worth modding? or should I just keep it all stock to prevent self-embarrassment when I try to run it against my friends, and just use it as a commuter...

Yes both of those intakes are a lot better than the ebay one, out of those two I would go with injen, the hotshots have a tendency to rust inside if you live somewhere humid.

Nah not too much is made for the 1.6, whether it's worth it to upgrade or not depends entirely on you. I wouldn't expect that car to do much better than mid 16's with all the bolt ons, if that seems like a waste then you could just leave it stock, if not then go ahead and mod it.

Oh really, only high 16's even after bolt ons... hmm I'd probably just be better off to just leave it a piece of junk to go back and forth to work in. It was free anyway...

What kinda car would you reccomend I get that has a lot of speed at a low cost? I was thinking Stang GT, like a 94/95, cobra even perhaps if I can save up enough. Or one of those 5.7L Firebirds, if I can find one cheap enough. What do you think?

I think late 90's trans ams are supposed to be relatively inexpensive, or an early 90's mustang 5.0

Would you reccomend a 99 stang? I like the fox body, and i'm pretty sure that was the first year of it.

I kinda liked the idea of having a little 4 banger that could take out an 8. But I guess I should just go with the 8. It'll be a weekend driving car anyway.

Looking on ebay though, I see a lot of Firebirds, the 5.7L v8's look yummy and are pretty cheap, do they get good gains with bolt ons? What do they run in the 1/4?

Yea, I'll probably take it to a new forum soon, sorry for going so off topic. But since I've already gotten the attention now of someone who doesn't appear to be a 16 year old with bad advice, I figured it'd be okay...

I just want a car that's the most bang for the buck, I've read through the Cars in general forum and seems everyone favors the older Z's and stangs. I couldn't even find the Firebird/Trans Am mentioned anywhere... is it sort of a sleeper? I just wanna know if I'm overlooking any cars that are awesome speed at a cheap price.

Oh and I'm not looking to go mod-crazy, just the common CAI header exhaust cams bolt-ons. No turbo or sc.
