Nothing special here, just figured I'd post some photo's of my upgrated front suspension crap.
http://home.comcast.net/~genopsyde/Picture_001.jpg
ok, uhh, that's a purple lowering spring...and a kyb strut, there's a new balljoint too but ya can't really see it.
http://home.comcast.net/~genopsyde/Picture_002.jpg
ok, that rubber thing on the a-arm is new, so is the tie rods and the sway bar linkage. The a-arm did have a nice black finish to it, but it got messed a bit from me beating it into place with a sledge hammer ridge runner style.
http://home.comcast.net/~genopsyde/Picture_003.jpg
ok, that's a better look at the tie rods, and the center link is new even tho it doesn't look like it. the red thing is the wonderbar steering brace, and the spring on the other side is there too, i got both springs in without a compresser too btw.
ok bye.

all I got left to do there is torque those strut bolts to the steering knuckle, they require 195 lbs, i'm gonna hafta stand on the damn torque wrench. Then put the brake assembly back on and wheels then i can finally get it off those stands and put my glow gauges in, i'll take some before, during, and after pics of that too. Then it's time to weld in the subframe connectors which will also include photos.

Hey guys , Looks good Geno.
I've been looking for manufacturers who make some stuff like what you've been doing.I need to change up my front stock suspension as well. I've noticed how tight the heavy azz car handles and I'd say it's pretty good considering how big it is and for a 92' but I know it would handle much better and even so tighter with some upgrades under there. I've seen a few of those cross member ones ( dunno much bout' suspension stuff and names.) that looks like a strut bar on ebay for like 40.00 for 3rdgens. Just need a reasonably cheap and easy direction to go.

por15?, you can buy it at most stores, i got mine from napa auto parts, it is black and it will seal the underside of the car. and it will never rust. i had to do some sanding on mine tho.

oh and i got my wonder bar from spohn racing... is urs adjustible? i had to spend extra to get the adjustible one, once u put it up, u extend it to preload the subframes, and it keeps the pressure off ur steering box, therefore increasing the life of it...

calm down some...calm...it's just a suspension set up. It's not like the 1150 HP twin turbo 350 that Banks introduced.
Oh shiat , Everyone check out Banks ( the godfather of turbo ) He had a direct bolt on set up for SBc's from 57 - 95+ . No turbo lag , Goes on quick.

Won't make much difference when working on the engine, but it sure does make a difference when removing/installing the engine & trans.
That nose looks like it had a bra on it for 10+ years and was never taken off...sun baked with moisture under the bra.

ok, started my engine removal process, yanked the a/c crap, drained cooling system, removed radiator, a/c condensor and all the pullies and shat from the front of the block, hopefully next week I'll have the rest of it out. There was a crapload of dead leaves in between the condensor and radiator too.

AllGo'n'Show
02-06-2005, 12:31 AM
aaa, that I don't have right now :( DAMN, did you have to like use a bar or somethign else to help prevent the pully from moving or just th eimpact by itself?
FormulaLT1
02-06-2005, 12:40 AM
I learned a trick on how to do it without a impact from before I got my impact. You take one wrench/ratchet and hold it clockwise then you take another wrench/ratch and loosen the bolt before it. Now I know you can't possibly loosen all three this way but if you loosen one and then tighten it again to loosen the one before it. it will come out easier with just a wrist jerk reaction. The only other way is to jam something in there which isn't recommended cause you could cause damage.
Genopsyde
02-06-2005, 12:46 AM
no, for some reason it won't turn the pully with the impact, I didn't think to use it, i was trying to use a breaker bar and thought i was never gonna get it off, then the boss broke out the impact and showed me up.....again.
AllGo'n'Show
02-06-2005, 12:55 AM
damn maybe i should get the impact wrench over here form a buddies house, I still think that the timing chain is the culprit to my madness!!!
Genopsyde
02-06-2005, 01:22 AM
how so?
AllGo'n'Show
02-06-2005, 01:27 AM
Well, previos owner thought the engine threw a rod, if it threw a rod, it would still start, and there would be aloud knocking. It doesnt start and there is only a light ticking which would be because a valve is stuck open becuase the timing chain is broken and such. It isnt firing up but it cranks over perfectly fine. Few people have brought up the suggestion of timing chain, Ive checked for spark and I have it and thats a plus, got a compression tester so I can test and see if one of my cylinders is screwed.
