Check the user's manual you get with the car. There is a maintence schedule in there.

Also, having a pre-owned black G results in swirls scratches and dull paint. I hve been told to get the paint "cut" by Infiniti. Is this a good idea.

No you don't need to 'cut' the paint. I'm sure it's fine. Go down to Canadian tire and get a Mothers paint care kit or all the components.

A good wash with some mild dish soap will remove all the old wax and build up. Then go over it with a clay bar (Mother, Meguires, etc READ DIRECTIONS) on any rough spots or parts that are starting to look dull. Get a good paint sealer and a good polish/wax and finish it off. I've never used Mothers but it seems to work OK. I personally like Zaino Bros (http://www.zainobros.com/) stuff but it on the expensive side.

Anyway check out some automotive paint care sites on the web Meguiars (http://www.meguiars.com/) is a good place to start. What you're talking about, cutting back the paint, is a pretty drastic step to get your shine back. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't turn your money down if you asked them. I just don't think a 3 year old car needs it. A little elbow grease will get you pretty far. ;)

Oh yeah here's a pic of the shine you can get with Zaino Bros paint. I took this last year I think. :D

Hehe, you have to mail/phone order it.

http://www.car-fanatic.com is in Guelph. The are pretty good. You'll probably spend over $100 easy. Have a good read of the tips and other Zaino links on there.

Since I know what your second question is going to be, you should get
one bottle each of Z1, Z2, Z5, Z6 and Z18. You can probably get away witht just the Z5 and skip the Z2 for now. Don't bother with the car wash there's lots of products that are just as good at Canadian tire. I like their Z16 - tire gloss too.
