ok fellas project engine inlcudes 95 gt vert
347 sportsman short block forged internals {all balenced} 8.5:1 compres.
tfs twisted wedge heads {ported}
tfs trackheat intake
tfs stage II cam
msd ingnition
mad distributer
ati porcharger d1 sc @15# intercooled
stroger valve train.
heavy duty heag gasket
strong motor mounts
my quesiton is what will the weak point of the engine? what would the weak point of the engine be? what would break first?
i predict it will ba about 600hp and that blcok i belive is rates at 700 isnt it?
and also i would like to know if an engine like that is going to need new springs every 50 passes or is it going to be cool for a weekend driver and fun at the track car. thanks
last question is about the deck height. the blockl comes in seevral different deck heights. can you guys give me any recomendations? im asumming it is for increased stroke and change of compression but im not sure what is good for me.

Sounds very familiar. Hmmmmm.

deck height refers to how high the cylinder head gasket surface rises above the centerline of the crank. it determines the overall displacement of the motor, since it determines how long you can make the stroke and how long the connecting rods can be. i believe a 302/289 has an 8.5 inch deck and a 351W has a 9.5" deck. i could be wrong, somebody correct me if i am.
most built superchaged blocks on the street use around 8:1 compression. the lower the compression the more boost you can run, and lower compression also helps control detonation. remember that compression is determined by cylinder displacement (bore x stroke), compression height (how far the piston rises in the cylinder), piston dish size, and combustion chamber size. there's a mathematical formula to determine static and dynamic compression ratios.
you would be wise to have a cam custom-ground for you, tailored to your specific application. using an off-the-shelf cam is fine, but it may ahve some odd dynamics to it that negatively affect performance in certain areas.

wow stang racer that is odd it is very famililar to your setup. how do you like it? do you have any numbers form dyno/track? and thatnks stang nut for helpin me out
