waste of $20...I've posted multiple times about ebay resistors and their bs. Do a search, you'll find plenty of info on why it would be more beneficial to throw the $20 in the trash can.

lol yeah i was thinking the same thing only reason i believed it somewhat was because in his feedback people were like great product it really works!...Bet you that asshole is making alot of money off of car parts though

I was watching the show Trucks today and the guy added some type of electric "thingy" to the truck. I think he said that it like boosted the hp either 20 or 90 depending on what level you're on (not too sure about the numbers though). What do you guys think? Possible?

alright, I'll break down and go type it all up again.

Yes, an electronic thing like that can work...yes there are chips and tuning devices that work. But they are quality, expensive parts that tune air/fuel ratios, fuel maps, and such. Stock engines from a factory have pretty conservative settings, so as to keep them safe and reliable. With proper caution and tuning, you can unleash more hp, torque, boost by chipping or tuning. This is true.

That thing on ebay is a 10cent resistor...he even admits it, which I think is hilarious. All it does is fool the electric sensor. Just like in the FAQ that resistor is used to fool the ECU into thinking that the EGR is still working, even if you have blockoffs.

This resistors job is to lie about the ambient temps of the air coming in the intake. It says the air coming in is colder...hence the ECU believes there is more 02, so it sends more fuel...your car runs richer. This may cause you to 'feel' like you are running stronger..but you aren't.

Another possibility is it lies about the throttle position. So when you are pushing the gas pedal down half way, it 'adds' an additional 25% or so. So the ECU thinks you have the pedal 3/4 of the way down....meaning it thinks the throttle body is further open than it actually is. Once again, ECU sends more fuel and runs the car rich, thinking that it is compensating for the additional o2.

This is 2nd way of cheating, is what the venom400 module does. Running rich isn't good for performance. Running leaner is(although, too lean and you destroy your pistons with knock). To a 'butt dyno' all this running rich may feel more powerful, but in reality it simply isn't.

Remember, people are generally stupid. They don't research things, they fall for stupid advertising and such. Ever trick someone into thinking they are drinking alot of alcohol...when in reality they are only having a TINY bit...they will start to act drunk, because they believe it. Same thing..people believe they are getting more hp, so they leave positive feedback. When reading any advertising on any aftermarket product...just remember their target audience are the people that think a honda with intake and exhaust will keep up with a 500hp Supra. Buyer beware.
