h22 info

hey all im new to the forum as well as to the prelude im not to new to the tuner seen thought. there is a few things i would like to know.i am tryin to make my first tuner car i already have the exterior and the interior now all i need is to do the engine. i was lookin to turbo but i realized i dont know alot about my engine so i need some help to learn about either sites to go to magazines to read or if u guys can just tell me about it so i can learn all my stuff so i can turbo. cuz theres those people with nice rides but dont know anything about it i dont want to be one of those. all help will be highly appreicated

hey well at least you are interested in learning about this stuff - and If you get into wrenching yourself you'll most likely find it quite a nice and rewarding experience as well.

First of all i'm not turbo'd myself nor have I helped anyone turbo anything, but I think i've picked up enough info here and there to atleast help point you in the right directions. First of all pick up a manual for your car - You can find a bunch of manuals at

they are in pdf format - and download at your own discretion.
- i'm not sure if you have a 4th gen or 5th gen prelude (or if you even have a prelude at all) - but in any case that site has manuals - that will pretty much tell you how to remove/install/tear open/put together an engine. Secondly peruise the forums at honda-tech.com - don't go about asking to many newb questions without searching the forums for an answer first - otherwise they will be quite snappy with you.. there is tons of good information on that site - usually including detailed photographs.

finally - unless you have deep pockets, I don't really recommend it - don't get me wrong a lot of people boost successfully - but personally I think it's more headache then it's worth, just drive your car and enjoy it as is - then again - I think preludes (vtec and even the h23 versions) are fast enough stock. It's one of those things you're going to have to weigh - but putting thousands into an old car (even though they are damn sexy) rather than using that money for a house or something that is actually an investment - always boggles my mind.
