Winter Car

Hey guys,
I'm from the 300ZX forums and coming here to ask you guys a question. Are the 91 CRX any good for winter? I know they are FWD so that's good. Are they reliable? I know the motors are but I really don't know about that much on CRX. It's not an SI model.

CRX's are some of the best winter car's you'ved ever owned. My buds have said that their cars have gone through snow and ice better than their friends toyota trucks so yeah, there's a plus. And I bet you that after the winter is gone, you'll love that car so much, that'll you keep it and join us.

Alright, so does the car in the autotrader link sound good? I'll go check it out then. I know they were good cars just didn't know how reliable they are in the winter since they're lighter then i'm use to. How many miles can a decent condition engine last for? Same with the tranny? I always like the CRX after seeing my cousins with the S2000 engine swap, that thing could fly lol.

From the picture, it looks like it's good shape. And for $900, that's very low for those miles. But I am a little skeptical though on the price cause of the mileage. The best thing to do is to take it out for a test drive and see how it rolls and tell us how it went.

From the picture, it looks like an HF, but not sure. The model is the lightest of the crx's, with the multi-port injection on it. It has an 8 valve head with a very tall 5 speed tranny in it and gets around 40mpg.

The mileage shouldn't be a big problem with any honda. Honda engines reputation is that they're solid. No matter how much you throw at them, they keep on puttin. Usually around those miles, all it needs is the basic tune-up. But exceeding over 250,000 miles, your looking at replacing more things.

The only thing that is wrong with a 1988-1991 CRX that I found during the winter is the back of the car is too light.

Back in 2000 when I had my 1988 CRX Si I was slowing down by coasting to a traffic light. No steering inputs or brakes and the car just spun around. SCARY! So I put my racing tires in the back and the problem was solved :)
