EGR Valve

Ok, this might sound stupid, but I need help. I have a 1992 Bravada with the 4.3 VIN W engine. Where is the EGR Valve located? My mechanic told me that it is on the front of the engine, on the left side near the alternator. Every other vehicle that I have owned the EGR has been on the rear of the engine. Any help would be appreciated. Mt Chiltons guide is not very specific on the location of the part.

Follow the intake air duct from your air cleaner to the throttle body. If you look below the throttle body, you'll see a black circular item with wires going to it mounted on an aluminum plate held on with 2 10mm bolts. It doesn't look like the EGR valves of times past...it's an electrical item now.
