I'm no racer, i'll tell you that, ok. I don't go cruising around for races, but if someone revs on me, i ain't backing down.

Last night, i was just cruisin, listening to some music at like 1am. I was on a 4 lane, empty road (just myself to kill if sh*t went wrong), which is basically a 5 mile straightaway with tons of lights.

I'm stopped at a light, windows up, music cranked, and i see light flash behind me, in which this dude changed lanes to get beside me. He had a white civic-those early ones i think the crx..? Anyway, he had the normal do-dads on there, wheels, ugly ass spoiler, and only a front bumper/kit with a vtec emblem ( that was probably for show). He revved hard on me, so i looked at him, and he just says "lets go", i was like, alright. I powerbrake to almost 2K, then when the light hits green, i floor it. His tires chirped (MT) i beat him on the launch by about 1 car, he catched up, and we are neck and neck till about 60mph, then my AT hits 4th, and i take off, that dude was atleast 3 cars behind my cars overweight ass. I hit 95 then had to stop at about 2 lights ahead of him.

I wanted to tear him up again, but he was gone.

I drive a 95 4.6 V8 thunderbird, completely stock except for knowing how to do good power-brake launches.

A few questions, wtf does "chipring tires" have to do with a manual tranny? Also, wtf are you doing shifting into 4th at 60 mph. I've never heard of that. Doesn't your auto tranny have 4 gears anyway?

And lastly, I have a green card and I freakin know that it's "caught up" and not "catched up" Werd?

Oops, i didn't clarify, no my AT goes into 4th at like 80 or so.

Chipring..no no, it's spelt Chirping.. Thats C..H..I..R..P..I..N..G

He got up to like 4K then took off, hence chirping his tires.

Thats for the english lesson buddy boy.

buddy boy, lol, havent heard that one in awhile.

BTW, isnt power braking when you do a moving burnout, while applying the brakes, but not locking them up?

The way you used it in context sounds like you were using your T/C Stall. Although you said you got it to 2000, i thought the max T/C stall on a stock 4R70W in the Thunderbirds were like 1300? I know all the "big dogs" go with the 2800 stall MK8/Maurder T/C

I thought power brake could mean either one basically (for burnout or a launch).

My tc stall goes up to about 2K, i think the previous owner had put that in there, i really don't know.

nice kill, i would consider it rice if it was a crx with a bag wing, anything thats a hatch back like that and has a wing is rice IMO
TypeS, it doesnt seem like we are going to get to race anytime now that its snowing out and too fucking cold out, guess we will have to wait till spring.

Cold is good...as long as it doesn't rain or snow.

I wasn't there this past weekend but I'll be there either this one or the weekend after that.

why is he a ricer again? cause of the kit, wing and rims???
thats cold dude, you drive a stock ass car, I think anyone who buys a stock beater and drives around thinking he can hang with mad modded cars is a ricer.

musashi, i know whats NOT a ricer, and what IS a ricer, this dude was a ricer. Take my word for it, the car was horrible looking.

BTW, he probably would have beaten me if he didn't spin his tires so bad, after all that little crx has a MUCH better power to weight ration then my overweight tbird.

Ladies and Gentlemen! The Car does not make you a Ricer!
The attitude does, it's thinking your car is fast when it isn't. And talking shit a bout cars, when in fact you don't know shit about them.
And pretending to know how to drive well, when you can't, at all.

That is all.

oh, He probbly was a ricer judging by his tire squealing goodnees.

sometimes people come on here and just cause its a honda or a japanese car its automatcally a ricer, I guess you gentlemen understand where I come from and in which case I am sorry for jumping the gun. Solaris, I'm sorry but the title and the brief explanation of the car just misslead me, In any case nice kill.

Power Braking - Applying enough brake pressure to keep the vehicle stationary while spinning the driven wheels of the vehicle.

Brake Torqueing(sp) - Applying moderate throttle to the engine to bring a torque converter up to it's stall speed while applying the brakes with enough pressure to keep the vehicle from moving and the driven wheels from spinning. Also not good to do for more than a few seconds or overheating of the transmission will occur and possibly damaging the transmission.
