I'm amazing at the results using the metallic sharpies for small parts that are supposed to be metal, it makes it look very realistic. I was just wondering if anyone else does this.

Sharpies are great. Silver for touching up chrome/detailing small parts/exhaust systems, red/amber for detailing lenses, red/blue for detailing fittings, black for outlining modern lenses and filling in the black masking on the inside perimeter of modern kit glass. Very handy modeling tools, cheap and easy to find.

I also like to outline head/taillight lenses with them as well.:)

not only that but larger sharpies can be used to make rubber trim around windows if you are not comfotable with mask and pray technique.

....not comfotable with mask and pray technique.

Mask and pray? If that's on purpose, HA! Brilliant!

Prismacolor Metallic markers are also good. They come in Gold and in Chrome. They come in two sizes too, fine tip and large tip. It came in a box of art markers i bought since i draw also.

I use a silver gel pen on a lot of my fine detail, like bolts and such. Since it's a gel ink, it covers up flat black etc. The brand is Gelly Rolls or something like that, and they come in about 10,000 colors; a lot are metallic. I also use Sanford Metallic Markers, they come in 2-packs of gold and silver, but they can be finicky.
