Creaking sound from steering up front

I'm starting to hear (and feel) a creaking noise (kinda like dry metal rubbing together) coming from my steering somewhere up front. I hear it when I turn the steering wheel stopped or when driving, it doesn't matter. It seems to be getting worse. Anyone experience this? Is it a simple matter of greasing up some joints? If so, where are the grease nipples on the front steering linkage? This is only my guess as to where this horrible sound is originating. It's getting so bad, that I can actually feel the creaking on the front floorboard. Any help would be much appreciated.

it could be your outer tie rod ends. i dont know if the stock ones have grease fittings but if they do it should be on top of the tie rod end which attaches to the wheel spindle

I seem to be having the same problems, but my seem to be coming from the back. The noise stop every time I step on the brake. So I'm thinking it could be something related to my brake ( I just had it change about a month ago, when they did it one of the bolt was broken because of rust and old. they did replace it with another bolt though). That and the fact that some one real end me just recently. They took it to the shop to get the rear fender repaint, and said they didn't found anyother problems. So If anyone know of some of the stuff I could check to see what's wrong with it. Please let me know I'm also going to a mechanic to see what's wrong with it.

Well found out the problem. The noise was coming from my balljoints, which I took in to get the recall done today. The mechanic showed me how bad they were. They were horrible. A few more weeks and I probably would've had my wheel fall off!

Recall? Is there a recall for the ball joint on 91 eagle talon?

As soon as I saw the original post I knew it was balljoints. The recall is on the 2Gs and covers the balljoint and the Lower Laterall Link it is attached to. Just a reminder to all 2g DSMers to have the balljoints checked, even if the recall was already done! I have to replace mine every 40k miles or so. 1Gers should check their shit out too, have to be safe above all else.
