Camerman needs to learn how to film, looked like the civic was ahead at the end there, but I'm not sure where the fuck the race actually ended at.

yeah i was piloting the civic. yeah i know the camera man needs to work on his skill a little. the race ends there. he put on his breakes cuz i almost hit him. the reason i alomst hit him is i was trying to wave bye to him cuz he was talking shit and didnt think i had a chance. we end up racing again and i pull ahead again at the top of sec and all through third. i will try and post the second video if i can.

what mods you got

i only had a b20 in it and a 50 shot during that race. sence then i have put rods and pistons,vtec head, v-afc, built vale train, and a 75 shot.

Holy shit, that Civic is fast. You must have 400+hp to beat that vette. And I think the camera man did a pretty good job, it just looked like he was far away in a dimly lit area.

Nice race, I seen your vid you posted when you were at the track that thing moves well. what times and mph are you seeing?

well i ave seen 7.88 about 6 or 7 times when i first got my slicks. then my car broke and my buddy used them. now i run 8.0's at 87 or 88 mph all day with a 1.9 60'ft. but my fastest run has been a 7.86 at 86 mph i seemed to hook well that run. im not sure but i think that video was a 8.0 run. my last time at the track i barrowed some toda c's from a friend and added some fuel and upped the shot to a 75. i ran a 8.0 at 90 mph with a 2.2 60'ft. shortly after that i spun the timming belt andbent all my valves so im back with stock cams and a greddy timming belt.

so you got a good 12 sec civic there. nice!

i hope man i havent had a chance to run a 1/4 mile track with nitrous yet but when i do i will post the video.

My civic is so slow...lol...only get to 90 mph in a quarter mile, he gets the same speed in half the distance...

Thanks for ruining it for me. Yeah, It was a joke. I have personally seen this car take out plenty of fast cars with twice the power it has.

i think im going to houston in jan. but i think it will only be an 1/8 mile track.

I hate 1/8 mile tracks. They don't do FWD cars any justice. And the fastest car there is always a GMC Cyclone or something odd like that. I want one of those though. They are the greatest sleeper.

Who ever said that the Civic needed 400hp to beat the Corvette is the biggest DA. I have seen gutted CRX with Drags run in the 12s and high 11s with only 230 whp

wieght reduction/lt wt, an excellent tranny with gear ratios for a specific race, and an LSD with slicks, can more than compensate for lack of HP, no problems. We have vettes and hatches with mickey Ts going neck and neck. Often ends up that the civic guy just had a swap and some brutally good traction and tranny, and usually surprises the fck out of the vette guys.

yeah but in tghis race i think im on 13 inch steelies with wal-mart specials.

That's all I've ever had for my Civic. I'm saving up for wheels and tires. And I can still run low 14's all day. Hoping to break into the 13's with my new wheels and tires.

what's your setup?

1993 Civic 4-door, fully gutted, LS/Vtec with PR3 pistons (raises compression from 9.6:1 to 11.5:1), fuel pressure regulator, short ram intake. Stock 1993 civic exhaust, and stock b16 exhaust manifold. I just got done putting on RS*R race springs and KYB AGX shocks. I have Integra front and rear brakes waiting to be put on, and will hopefully get some Rota Slipstreams with Falken Azenis tires soon. I'm going to get the head ported and polished and get dual valve springs, replace the rod bolts and I should be good for over 200whp and rev to about 9,000rpms. Oh and of course I will need a header and exhaust. Naturally I'll eliminate the cat. It's my race car so I don't drive it very often.

Drag racing or road racing?

Setting it up for road racing but drag racing will always be there. All I've done up to this point is drag racing. I love both but I want to start autoxing. And go to those track days things where you pay like $100 and you get to race around a real track all day. I'm also going to Skip Barber racing school in about 2 or 3 months.

a couple years ago they had a twin turbo 427ci vette putting out around 800 horsepower with 12 psi of boost and the 0-60 time with drag tires was 2 seconds flat and quarter mile times in the 8's or 9's i cant remember now in excess of 140 mph

my point is why dont you people compare apples to apples instead of oranges you compare modded cars to stockers and you guys get high on yourself when you beat them

yeah its because, a four cylinder car can beat a V8. So what if we have mods done, You guys have four cylinders over us. Its only fair that we have forced induction or nitrous. Its just sad that the technolgy in a four cylinder is years aheand if your american muscle.

my car was n/a with a 50 shot that vet called me out and said he could beat any ricer around so i raced him and didnt have to spray him but i wanted it to look like a real beating. i didnt even spray this guy till 3rd gear then he put on his brakes. the way i see it is its his bad for brining his stock vet cuz at the street races its run what ya brung. and he also thought i had a turbo.but hay if you want to see me racing a modded muscle car then i have another video for ya in this one im still on a 50 shot and 13'in steelies. this guy is a good friend of mine he has a 03 cobra with a kenny bell s/c and some other mods. the blower on the o3 cobra has more displacement than my motor. http://www.greenvillesource.com/vids/civic_03cobra.wmv

its ALL about power to weight ratio. Thats why superbikes go *NUTS* on the track. This one guy brought his Hyabusa to the Qualcomm tracks, and it did the 1/8 so fast it looked like something out of a video game, lol.

that is a quick civic, i will give you props for it, unlike other assholes.
