ponchonutty or anyone else...
I just had the Viper 160xv remote starter installed on my 2000 gtp. I was just curious what exactly is involved in the installation.
I added the keyless entry option and the trunk release option. Total install time was about 2.5 hours and I paid about $300 (2 4-button keyfobs).
Most of the work seems to be under the dash. Was the dash removed from above too? And how about the receiver attached on my windsheild near my rearview mirror? Where does that wire run to?
Also, the parking light confirmation was installed. I am happy that my rear lights now flash when I lock and unlock. Also, what does the trunk option part of the installation involve? There are no wires running to the trunk are there?
Would the horn have been difficult to set up w/ lock/unlock feature?
Thanks for anyone who can help.

The trunk is wired to the trunk release, which is wired in glove box. All other wires are are under dash. There is a mercury switch that when it's set, shows any movment to car, window breaking, doors or trunk opening, ect.
The one I have on Chevy also will go off if you put your hand in the the window while it's opened.
They can be set up to have horn go off when set. But we have enough noise out there.
