My Ls Has A On Going Problem With Not Starting
Sometimes When I Go To Start It It Does Nothing
Will Not Turn Over, Will Not Play Radio, Nothing
Repeated Try's, Will Usually Fix It, But I Have Had It Towed
Three Times To The Dealer And They Can't Find Anything Wrong.
Has Anyone Else Had This Problem ? If So What Was The Fix?
Thanks

it might be the radio. I have seen and read where they will continue to draw power even after the car is turned off. Pull the fuses charge the battery and test. Lincoln does have a procedure for testing power draw after shutdown but it is lengthy and requires much attention to detail. Sounds to me the dealer is just plain lazy.
If it turns out to be the radio you will have to replace the entire head not a cheap fix but the only successful measure that I know when this has occured. Please update us as you discover more.

"repeated trys will usually fix it" leads me to believe that it's not a dead battery. Did anybody check to make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight? That can cause all kinds of strange intermittent start problems. Since you don't seem to have power to the starter OR radio, the problem must lie in the main power feed from the battery. I'd look at the ignition switch, too.
Noah/Lou, can the PATS system disable power to the radio?

Good question! I will axe around tomorrow. Equally good observation on the repeated tries and the battery. IIRC there is a special battery for the LS that will not corrode as frequently as the typical aftermarket ones do. I have an aftermarket replacement and it corrodes FREQUENTLY and I stay on top of keeping it clean becasue it will degrade the CCAs.
