You must have some serious, serious clearance issues with that car. Looks like it should be on hydraulics if it is dropped that low.

I've seen a good amount of Eclipes that low... I plan on buying a GSX This spring/summer if i can find one.. I wouldn't mind lowering it that low. I think it looks nice.. I'ma also have a GS with regular suspension.. so if i gotta go somewhere in which i'ma need Clearance, I'll Just drive the GS

You have horrible camber issues in the rear, and I'm sure your performance is greatly affected...but it does look low. :uhoh:I've seen a good amount of Eclipes that low... I plan on buying a GSX This spring/summer if i can find one.. I wouldn't mind lowering it that low. For the GSX's sake, please don't. Ride quality, performance, and your tires will all hate you, and you can't just replace 2 tires on an AWD. This means evry time your "hott dropped ride" goes in for new tires due to this camber fuckery, you get to buy 4.

How low do you recommend?? and inch.. 2 inches?.. I always thought the lower the better.. but i guess 4 inches would be 2 low huh.. Its okay to lower a GST or GSX right?? And what do you mean by "Chamber Fuckery"?? how does it damage her Chambers.. whatever they are

I probably would have never noticed that if you hadn't said something about it. And I love the "but it does look low" :grinno: Yes it sure does.
IMO - tyko909 is an idiot

I agree that the 4 inch drop is just stupid. I would have invested in a paint job.

so you know this will be a track only car, and the camber kit isnt in yet. when all is said and done I will show it again. its still in the first stages of mods. if it wernt for that dipshit mechanic I hired alot more would have been done. But we learn and we live right?

there is no way you could have droped an eclipse 4 in. with out is sitting on the ground unable to move. My first eclipse i droped it 2 inches and i was almost on the ground. i had maybe a 1 in from the ground. Speed bumps where not my friend.
You will need a chamber kit if you are going to lower it. I would go lower than a 1in on the gsx just get some 18s to make it look lower

A track car with a 155 dB? Seems pointless.

I am not leaving the system in. I am transfering it to a 89 civic hatch. the only problems I have with the drop is the fact that I cant get my oil changed at a shop and I am limited in which driveways I can enter or exit, and I had to get the exhaust system custom made to keep the cat from scraping on the ground. Besides I plan on lifting it an inch to sit at 3 inches of drop, thats the magic of coilovers. As for the 18s I would have to say that I feel more comfortable with the rotating mass of a 17 or a 16. At three inches I will be able to leave my tires at -1/-2 degrees f/r allowing a more responsive feeling while driving

that sounds possible if your running portwars or outlaw. I have barely under 8 cubic feet per sub on a sub wall. my box starts 2 inches behind the b-pillar and goes to 5 inches from the back of the trunk.(needed access to the taillights. That with the 2 memphis MC2000D amps put me at a reserved 3750 watts RMS. with two yellow tops and two audio essential 1.2 farad caps burried in the back and a rewound alternator putting out 210 amps, a audiocontrol matrix line driver and 24xl to clean up the sound, I am pushing a consistant 155.8dB SPL, I followed the low rumblings with memphis m class seperates being pushed by a mc3004 giving me 300 watts rms per channel X 4 channels. The true heart of my system is the alpine d300 media center giving me even more control over my tuning than a standart preamp. Fortunaltly all of this will be pulled in order to autocross in 2005.
